Cain van der Donk, known professionally as HurrawCain, is a Dutch dancer and performer specialising in krump. Based in Amsterdam, he is active on the European krump battle circuit.[1]
His performance style combines the raw physicality of krump with a performative, near-cinematic approach, making his work suited to both live audiences and camera.[1]
Career [ book ]
Van der Donk built his name within the battle scene and now has more than ten years of experience on the European krump battle circuit. At twelve, he already reached the semi-final of EBS Under 18, one of the biggest Krump battles in the world.
He competed at Freedom City, the biggest hip-hop festival in Utrecht, including a spot in the line-up of Freedom City 5 in 2022[2] and a Top 16 knockout finish in the 1vs1 Krump Advanced category at Freedom City 8 in 2025, a field of 36 registered dancers from eleven countries.[3] He has also battled at events including EBS, Kulture and Hype, and won three battles in 2025.
In 2026, Van der Donk received an international invitation as a battle guest to the Czech Republic.
Theater [ book ]
Alongside the battle scene, Van der Donk has developed as a theater maker. In 2024, he created his first theater solo, De Stagnation, within the Stark Ravin Mad trajectory (Factorium Tilburg). In 2025, he performed the solo across multiple stages, six performances in total, including the Kwaku Festival, ISH Open Stage, and Flowerz Theater.
Artistic style [ book ]
HurrawCain's movement language is rooted in krump, an expressive, high-energy street dance style that originated in South Central Los Angeles in the early 2000s, which he layers with a theatrical, storytelling-driven approach. With a strong sense of rhythm and narrative, he translates movement into a visual experience designed to leave a lasting impression, on stage as well as on camera.[1]
Content creator [ book ]
Alongside his work as a dancer and maker, Van der Donk is active as a content creator, producing videos around battle culture and the dance scene:
- Vlogs
- Reaction videos
- Concept dance videos
- Battle footage
- Podcast on the Hiphopcore platform
Follow on TikTok (@hurrawcain) and YouTube (@hurrawcaindance).
